PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems when an image forming method which detects a recording material being displaced to one side and controls an image position according to the detection result is actually applied. SOLUTION: An automatic write position determination mode wherein a write position is determined according to the output of an end position detecting means which detects a recording material being displaced to one side and an expected image position determination mode wherein an image is formed at the image position determined in advance are available and selected by a selecting means. Further, the trigger timing of the end position detecting means is determined by a timer of a control part in addition to a front-end detection signal of the recording material. |
