PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for recognizing the modulation system, with which a practical receiver capable of recognizing the modulation system of a received signal can be attained in a simple configuration in spite of the modulation system. SOLUTION: This device is equipped with a phase synchronism detector group 12 having plural detectors 121-125 provided corresponding to plural modulation systems for respectively parallel inputting the said received signal for respectively counting the number of symbols corresponding to the modulation system for each of detectors, making the primary decision, that the received signal is modulated in the relevant modulation system, when the count exceeds a fixed threshold and outputting these results as synchronism detecting flags LED121-LFD125 and a logic circuit 14 for exclusively selecting one modulation system while receiving the plural output results LFD121-LFD125 of the phase synchronism detector group 12. |
