PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate various troubles caused when the driving speed of a zoom lens in presetting operation is determined by setting of a zoom speed varying variable resistor for varying and setting the driving speed of the zoom lens for the manipulated variable of a zoom control switch 1. SOLUTION: This optical device, which performs preset drive control over a lens and other optical adjusting means 9 by using preset position information stored in a storage means 6a, is able to store arbitrary preset speed information in the storage means as a storage indicating operation means 8 is operated and performs position and speed preset drive control for driving the optical adjustment means to a position, corresponding to the stored preset position information at a speed corresponding to the stored preset speed information.
