In this invention a method of applying images such as printing to a substrate such as paper includes the step of applying primary images to the substrate using a toner of toner type of printing process, applying powder, preferably a metallic powder to at least the primary images and heating the toner of the primary images to soften the toner and bond the powder thereto. Thereafter the excess unbonded powder is removed from the substrate and primary image/s.
