Method of analysis of a sample of cell extract containing a plurality of components comprising preparing a sample of cell extract; separating said sample to separate the components within the cell extract and obtaining an electronic image of the separated sample. Spot analysis areas in said electronic image is determined using as a criteria that the number of spot analysis areas should be close to a predetermined value and applying said determined spot analysis areas on the electronic image for evaluating the areas in order to detect spots representing components of the cell extract.
