A method for selecting and processing payroll deduction as a payment option for articlespurchased during electronic commerce. An employer authorizes selected vendors involved inelectronic commerce to accept payroll deduction as a payment option for the employer'semployees. The employer and vendor establish guidelines for utilizing the payroll deductionoption during electronic commerce and the vendor stores the guidelines and identifyinginformation for the employer and corresponding employees in a database in the vendor'scomputer. Thereafter, when an employee selects articles from the vendor's web site, theemployee may select payroll deduction as the payment option. The vendor places the employee'sselections and payment option in a file and forwards them to the employer. The employer mayapprove or reject the employee's selection and the vendor processes the order according to theemployer's instructions. Then the vendor informs the employee about the status of the order. This method therefore affords authorized employees the option of using payroll deduction during electronic commerce. |
