A switch for detecting as to whether or not a go piece is placed on a square of a go board is provided under each square of the go board body, and, for each operation of a black or white piece placing switch operated by a player at the end of each placing, a go game record data is prepared based on black/white discrimination information by a relative placing switch and on information from each switch for detecting the presence or absence of a go piece on each square, thereby enabling the display of a game record on a screen based on the game record data during the playing or after the end of the playing and printing of the game record.
