The present invention provides novel polynucleotides and the polypeptides encoded thereby. The polypeptides of the invention demonstrate anti-obesity activity. The present invention also provides methods of making and using said polynucleotides and polypeptides, as well as methods of treating or preventing obesity using such compounds. Accordingly, such agents allow patients to overcome their obesity handicap and live normal lives with much reduced risk for type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and cancer. |
