<p>The invention relates to a cold rolling method for metal stock (4). The metal stock that is to be rolled (4) passes through a roll gap (3) between rollers (2) which are driven in an opposite direction at room temperature for plastic deformation. In order to avoid problems caused by the use of liquid cooling lubricants and to create an improved surface quality of said stock (4), an inert gas is blown into the region of the roll gap (3) whereby the inert gas is of a lower temperature than the temperature of the stock that is rolled in said roll gap. A further object of the invention is a cold rolling stand for carrying out the above-mentioned method.</p> |
