A foamed propylene resin object (density of 90-300 g/l; open cell content of up to 12%) is prepared using pre-foamed particles of a resin composition comprising (A) 100 pts.wt. polypropylene resin and (B) 0.01-20 pts.wt. of a hydrophilic polymer and water as a blowing agent. The pre-foamed particles exhibit at least 2 endothermic peaks in a DSC (differential scanning caloremetry) curve.
