This aircraft rudder pedal is covered by a moulded carbon laminate base plate (5), on to which a carbon laminate heel moulding (6) and an L' shaped aluminium brake head (3) are riveted. These allows a disabled pilot with a handicapped or artificial limb to rest the heel in the heel moulding (6) whilst operating the aircraft rudder, and to operate the aircraft brakes by applying pressure to the lip (2) of the brake head (3).
