The invention concerns a tunnel comprising a conveyor (4) provided with a succession of elements (14) for suspending articles (2) which penetrate into the treatment chamber (3), and devices (13) for dispersing treating agent in the treatment chamber. At the inlet and the outlet of the chamber, means (5) are provided for generating a transverse gas flow; in at least one site along the length of the chamber, means (6) for extracting gas, provided with means (25) for retaining the entrained liquid phase, said means being adapted to create in the chamber a light negative pressure, and at the top of the chamber, two brushes (10) whereof the bristles are interlocked, the suspension elements (14) passing through the interlocking zone. The invention is useful for bactericidal treatment of bird carcasses by trisodium phosphate spraying.
