SUBSTANCE: method of synthesis of omeprazol involves three stages that are carried out without isolation or purification in a single system of solvents and involves: chlorination of (4-methoxy-3,5-dimethyl- 2- pyridinyl)-methyl alcohol with thionyl chloride or other suitable chlorinating agent; interaction of synthesized (4-methoxy-3,5-dimethyl-2-pyridinyl)-methyl chloride with 2-mercapto-5-methoxybenzimidazole in the presence of base followed by interaction of synthesized 5-methoxy-2-[[(4- methoxy-3,5-dimethyl-2- pyridinyl]-methyl]-thio)-1H- benzimidazole with m-chloroperoxybenzoic acid. Solvent system has the main solvent, preferably water-nonmixable solvent (CCl4,CHCl3,CH2Cl2 or toluene), and cosolvent (preferably, C1-C4-alcohols) to increase the output of method.
