<p>Methods for identifying the harmonic content of a single signal contained within a more complex signal and subsequently processing or separating signals contained within a complex mixture of signals into their constituent parts. Also, a single signal may be selectively separated or removed from the more complex audio signal. Furthermore, it may be desired to affect or modify the volume, clarity, timbre, color, feel, understandability (e.g. vowel and consonant sounds), the punch or clarity of the attack phase of a note or of a sequence (sometimes rhythmic) of individual notes or sounds in a complex combination of sounds of differing frequencies, volumes, and time sequence patterns. Multiple methods are described herein to allow the identification of signals within an audio signal that contains multiple or mixed signals, such as an audio signal containing a mixture of several musical instruments and/or voices.</p> |
