A raschel knitting machine for mfg. plain or patterned art plush, with or without a striking plate, having only one needle bed, is built up of alternate latch needles and hook knives, which are separately mounted and controlled by cams. Plain or patterned plush can be made on a single bed machine. The pile can be stitched or laid in and patterned with guide bar movements up to one inch. Needles mounted on the bed below the hook-knives are all on one plane and are controlled by different cams. The hook knives can either have a removable blade in the base, or have a sharpened shank. The needles and hook-knives are mounted in lead and are spaced alternately across the machine, with every other guide missing from the guide bars. The guide bars making the base fabric are behind the striking plate, those for the pile are in front.
|
