Helical springs are heat treated by being passed through an inclined muffle furnace in front of the spring making machine. The springs are fed into it by means of a pushing device which effects their movement through a tubular channel passing through the furnace. The pushing device consists pref. of a wheel on the circumference of which are mounted bristles. Its rate of rotation is synchronized with the spring making machine. The method is continuous and ensures that the springs are not subjected to any stresses during their passage through the furnace. |
