The cylinder running surface production process involves pre-boring at least one cylindrical running surface in a cylinder casing and mechanically finishing it with a fine-cutting rotary tool. The finishing is carried out with a multiple cutting tool (1), the axis (10) of which coincides with the axis of symmetry (24) of the cylinder running surface (2) to be machined.
