Foil is in the form of a composite structure made of a plastic material (22) and a metal powder (21) having at least one ferromagnetic element. Anisotropic powder particles made of an amorphous and/or nanocrystalline metal powder are provided to adjust the composite structure with magnetic anisotropy. An Independent claim is also included for a process for the production of a soft magnetic foil comprising mixing the metal powder with plastic material; heating and converting into foil form.
