PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method for coating small articles whereby the coating efficiency is improved and the unevenness in thickness of a coating film is reduced. SOLUTION: Objects 9 to be coated, such as outer handless, are attached to mounting fixture 8 rotating around the rotation shaft 7 installed horizontally as the center of rotation and, while the fixture 8 is rotating, a coating material is sprayed on the objects 9 from a coating material spray nozzle 20 moving in the direction of the rotation shaft. Thus, the front and back sides of the object are coated. Since the center of rotation is in horizontal direction, the object is coated evenly in the left and right directions.
