PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply printing to a postcard or the like in such a state that inside and outside or a direction is correct. SOLUTION: A postcard printer 10 reads the image reading program 20, image confirming program 21, postcard surface postal code frame position data 22, inside and outside judging program 23, postcard surface top and bottom judging program 24 and unjust setting warning program 25 stored in a recording medium 12 through an external memory medium input and output device 19 to develop them on a program memory 13. A CPU 11 reads a postcard postal code frame 31 according to the indication of printing processing to an operation part 14 in the image reading part 17 mounted on the printer carriage of a printing part 16 to judge the inside and outside as well as top and bottom of a postcard on the basis of the presence of the postal code frame. When the set state of the postcard is judged to be not correct, a warning is issued by a display part 15 and, when the postcard is judged to be accurately set, printing is applied to the postcard in the printing part 16.
