PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide printer, and a control method therefore, in which a sheet can be discharged surely even when the residual quantity of sheets is low. SOLUTION: A continuous form is printed (501) and then reprinted (501) if the end of the continuous form is detected by means of a paper end sensor (510, YES) but not detected by means of a real end sensor (510, NO) until a cut command is received (505, NO). If the end of the continuous form is detected by means of the real end sensor (511, YES), a feed roller and a discharge roller are driven to discharge the sheet (512).
