PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spinning reel for fishing capable of simply and smoothly changing rotation states of a rotor and a spool, quickly and smoothly drawing out a fishing lone and flexibly dealing with various situations against an abrupt tug of fish. SOLUTION: In this spinning reel for fishing equipped with a rotor 8 rotatably supported on a reel body 1a, a spool 10 which is attached to a spool shaft supported on the reel body, winds a fishing line by the rotation of the rotor and is rotatable on the reel body, a drag mechanism for resisting the rotation of the spool, a braking mechanism for applying a brake force to the reverse rotation of the rotor and an operation member 5 which is attached to the reel body and operated the braking mechanism, the spinning reel is furnished with a changing mechanism 72 for changing a drag force from strong power to weak power or carrying out the conversion of operation/non-operation of the drag.
