PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To heighten the coupling strength with rivets. SOLUTION: A rivet 10 has a hollow structure consisting of a head 12 and a hollow shank 14 extending from the undersurface of the head 12, wherein the forefront 14A of the shank 14 is inclined at an acute angle from the inside circumferential edge to the peripheral edge and tapered outward so that the inside circumferential edge assumes sharp. The rivet 10 is driven into two plates 16 and 18 put together, and on the side of rivet opposite the driving side, a ring 20 is driven in having an inside diameter greater than the outside diameter after deformation of the rivet shank 14.
