PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of finishing the land of an outer race of a bearing, which can prevent warps formed on the land and fine foreign objects sticking to the land, from separating therefrom later, and to provide a bearing having thus formed land. SOLUTION: The outer peripheral surface of a finishing roller 11 is rotated, pressing against the land 6 of an outer race 5 of a bearing at a predetermined pressure, or the outer race 5 and the finishing roller 11 are moved relative to each other in their axial directions during the rotation so as to squeeze fine protrusions on a roughed surface of the land 6 in order to plastically deform warps formed on the land 6 and fine foreign object sticking the land 6 at least in part. Thus, they are buried into the surface of the land 6, or are removed in part other then those buried in the surface of the land 6 in order to prevent the warps and the fine foreign matter from separating from the land 6, and to enable the land 6 to have a smooth surface. |
