PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a casting method of a housing for electric type power steering device, by which the housing without developing any defect of weld, etc., can be produced without executing a complicated afterworking, and a metallic mold for casting. SOLUTION: When the housing for electric type power steering device is cast, the metallic mold 1 is disposed so as to form the longitudinal axial direction of the gear housing to the vertical direction, and metal material is supplied along the longitudinal axial direction. At the lower part of the metallic mold 1, an annular gate part 4 is arranged and the metal material is supplied upward from this gate part 4. In this way, the metal material is supplied to the vertical direction along the longitudinal axial direction of the gear housing and thus, even to the thin part, such as insert part, the metal material is uniformly run and the development of enclosing blow hole or weld caused by the contact of the solidified layers each other can be prevented. |
