PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adhesive composition suitable for the production of a metal plate coated with a plastic film and capable of forming the body of a can for holding drinks, foods, etc. SOLUTION: The adhesive composition contains (A) a hydroxy-containing polyester resin having a number-average molecular weight of 2,000-30,000 and a glass transition temperature of -30 to +45 deg.C, (B) an epoxy resin having a number-average molecular weight of 2,000-30,000 and (C) a diisocyanate compound. The weight ratio of A:B is 1:99 to 50:50 and that of (A+B):C is 100:1 to 100:40.
