PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for industrially producing L-lysine at a low cost according to a method for fermentation using methanol as a raw material. SOLUTION: A bacterium of the genus Mathylobacillus holding a dihydrodipicolinate synthase(DDPS) activity in which inhibition with the L-lysine is released or reduced and/or the aspartokinase(AK) activity in which the inhibition with the L-lysine is released or reduced is cultured by using the methanol as a main carbon source to produce and accumulate the L-lysine, which is then collected from the cultured product.
