PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an indole compound selectively acting on estrogen receptorβand useful as a therapeutic medicine for osteoporosis free from adverse effect. SOLUTION: This indole compound is represented by general formula (1) [wherein R1 is hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl group or the like; R5 and R6 may be the same as or different from each other and each represent hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, hydroxy group, a lower alkyl group, a lower alkoxy group or the like; R7 is hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a lower alkyl group or the like; A, B, D, E and F are each the same or different and denote each =N-, =CH- or the like and Y is phenyl group or the like] or its pharmaceutically permissible salt.
