PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cord cutter capable of easily taking out and cutting a cord and a case for the cord with this cutter used. SOLUTION: A rubber 2 as an elastic body is set on the edge 41 of a hole 5 opened in a case 4 for a cord, and a cord stopper 1 is mounted on the rubber 2. The cord stopper 1 has blade 3 mounted on an upper part 101 and a lower part 103 fitted into the hole 5 in a prescribed length. When a cord 7 is taken out of the case 4 through the hole 5 and moved to the cord stopper 1, the rubber 2 which received the force from the cord 7 through the cord stopper 1 circularly curves and moves the cord stopper 1 as it rotates clockwise to nip the cord 7 between the lower part 103 and the edge 42 of the hole 5. When the cord 7 is further moved, it is strongly touched to the blade 3 and cut. According by, the nipping by the lower part 103 and the edge 42 is released, and the stopper 1 is returned to the original state.
