PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric vacuum cleaner, of which connection pipes length can be adjusted and fixed with simple operation, in lower price and with superior appearance. SOLUTION: An electric vacuum cleaner includes an inhalation mouth equipped on a connection pipe communication to an inhalation hose. The connection pipe is comprised with a first pipe and a second pipe. On the first pipe, a conveyance path formed on its one end is connected to a handle detachably. The second pipe is connected with the other end of the first pipe to be able to slide and the other end is connected with the inhalation mouth. The first pipe is provided with a fixer means to fix the second pipe on the first pipe. A locking groove responding to the fixer means is formed on the second pipe on the same side of bottom of the first pipe. A transfer means to transfer the handle operation power from the handle connected to the upper side of end on the first end to the fixer means provided on bottom of the first pipe is provided on the first pipe.
