PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat sensitive recording medium having excellent color developability, water resistance, plasticizer resistance and oil resistance, and a method for manufacturing it. SOLUTION: In the heat sensitive recording medium obtained by sequentially laminating a heat sensitive recording layer containing an electron donative compound and an electron acceptive compound, and a protective layer containing a pigment and an acetoacetyl group modified polyvinyl alcohol contains a hydrazine compound of a dihydrazide azipate of 0.1 to 1.0 wt.% to the total solid content of the protective layer in the protective layer as one means. |
