PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new water channel provided with an overflow preventing function for preventing an overflow caused by abnormal elevation of a water level in various kinds of channels for water-reservation, irrigation, a drainage channel and the like. SOLUTION: A temporary water storage part M is constructed in a condition adjacent to a side of a water channel L, a height of the storage part M is made to come to a height exceeding an upper edge position of the channel L to realize overflow action, and the storage part M is constituted to attain ground-infiltration for storage water from its bottom face or side face.
