PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a long boring arbor that is balanced in a high-speed rotating condition without drops in tool rigidity. SOLUTION: The boring arbor has axial slots 81 and 82 extending from the tip end face of a tool body 1, and a slot 83 extending from the end face of a flange 3, which arrangement balances the arbor well during tool rotation.
