PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cosmetic excellent in feeling when applied and makeup effect from, as raw material, a siloxane-grafted polysaccharide derivative which is produced by an economical process with no need of any catalyst, high reaction rate and slight unreacted product. SOLUTION: This cosmetic essentially contains (a) 0.5-30.0 wt.% of a siloxane- grafted polysaccharide derivative 10-250 mgKOH/g in acid value and 1-60 wt.% in organopolysiloxane content obtained by reaction between a single-terminated alicyclic epoxysilicone macromonomer and a carboxyl-contg. polysaccharide derivative soluble to organic solvent and (b) 0.5-99.5 wt.% of a compound having alcoholic hydroxyl group in the molecular structure.
