PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high speed forging method of a hot tool steel, by which an efficient extend-forging releasing the concentration of the forging effect into a specified part can be obtained and also, an efficient finish-forging while maintaining a high dimensional accuracy of roundness, etc., can be obtained. SOLUTION: In the high speed forging method of the hot tool steel, (1) when the extend-forging is the main purpose, the forging reductions are made to 60-170 times/min, the reduction of area per one pass is made to 15-33% and the feeding speed of a material to be forged is made to in the range of 2.5-6.8 m/min. (2) When the finish forging is the main purpose, the forging reductions are made to >170 to 240 times/min, the reduction of area per one pass is 2-18% and the feeding speed of the material to be forged is made to in the range of 2.5-9 m/min.
