CATALYST REGENERATION TYPE FILTER DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst regeneration type filter device that can easily increase generation amount of highly activated nitrogen dioxide and thus easily improve its filter regeneration performance through particulate incineration. SOLUTION: This catalyst regeneration type filter device comprises a catalyst converter 6, that carries an oxidation catalyst 9 for oxidizing nitrogen monoxide in exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine 1 to generate high active nitrogen dioxide and that includes such a magnetic substance as selectively absorbs gas components having relatively high magnetic susceptibility in the exhaust gas, and a filter 7 that is placed downstream of the catalytic converter 6 in an exhaust passage R and is regenerated, when carbon trapped therein from the exhaust is oxidized and is removed out by the nitrogen dioxide flowing downstream.
