PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain aπelectron system polymer useful for a luminous material and an electron transport material and containing a hetero-5-membered ring in the molecule and an organic electroluminescent(EL) element capable of preparing a long-lived display with a low power consumption and using the polymer. SOLUTION: This luminous material uses a silole copolymer represented by formula (1) (wherein R1, R2, R3 and R4 denote each independently an alkyl group or an aryl group; Ar1, Ar2, Ar3 and Ar4 denote each independently an aromatic group; X denotes an arylene group, a bivalent alicyclic hydrocarbon group or a bivalent heterocyclic ring except thiophene and pyrrole; and n is 1-300). The electron transport material uses the silole copolymer and the organic EL element uses the material.
