PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vertical type foot binding trap capable of surely catching animals. SOLUTION: This trap is composed of at least a cylindrical main body 1, a head 2, an inner pipe 3, a coiled spring 4, a long guide pole 5, a footboard unit 6, and a wire 9, wherein the head 2 is positioned near to an opening of the main body 1 and has a catching board 21 on the upper surface, one of both the ends of the inner pipe 3 is attached to the head 2 and another end is received in the main body 1 so as to freely move in and out, the coiled spring 4 is positioned in the inner pipe 3 which is received in the internal space of the main body 1, the long guide pole 5 is positioned in the spring 4 so as to freely slide, the footboard unit 6 is equipped with a narrow footboard 61 which is vertically positioned in such a state as to have an angle with the main body of smaller than 10-20 deg. from the right angle, and the wire 9 is stationed in an external area of the main body 1 and operates so that the wire 9 binds the ankle of the animal to catch the animal when the animal puts the foot on the footboard 61 and consequently the head 2 jumps out from the main body 1 by action of the spring 4.
