PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a sheet pallet cargo handling device capable of improving efficiency and convenience of cargo work using a sheet pallet. SOLUTION: A storing portion 3 for storing a platen 9 is liftably mounted on a mast 2 of a forklift 1, and a faceplate 4 having a grip mechanism 8 is mounted on the storing portion 3. In a state in which the platen 9 is stored and contracted in the storing portion 3, the grip mechanism 8 placed near the lower part 3a of the storing portion 3 grabs and fix a tub of the sheet pallet 10. Next, the platen 9 is expanded and inserted under the sheet pallet 10, the sheet pallet 10 and a load 11 are placed on the platen 9. When the load is unloaded from the platen 9, the platen 9 is contracted. Differently from the case of using a push/pull device, the load 11 can loaded onto the platen 9 or the load 11 can unloaded from the platen 9 without moving the forklift 1 back and forth.
