PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing oil retention sheets for a guide rail lubricating system capable of providing through holes in oil retention sheets with high accuracy. SOLUTION: This method comprises an oil retention sheet shaping step (S1) to form the contour of a sheet shaped oil retention material 22a to be fit to the internal walls of a case 12, and to form at least a recess 31 and a groove 32 in which the guide section 3A of a guide rail 3 is positioned, a lubrication sheet installation step (S2) to follow Stage S1, so as to attach lubrication sheets 37, 38, and 39 to cover the inner surfaces 31A and 31B and bottom floor 31C of the recess 31, and a hole providing step (S3) to follow Stage S2 so as to form through-holes 33, 33A, and 33B for positioning an oil retention sheet laminate 14 and a through-hole 34 for preventing the oil retention sheet laminate 14 from inverted accommodation with the recess 31, in which the lubrication sheets 37, 38, and 39 are installed, used as a reference.
