PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a convenient bag-opening cutter capable of adeptly opening a food bag or retort pack or a pack vessel. SOLUTION: This bag-opening cutter 1 is formed a body 2 having a cutter blade 4 mounted at the tip and a U-shaped cross-sectional cover 3 for housing the body 2, which is rotatably supported on one end of the body 2. A clearance 5 is formed on the lower edge part of the cover 3 so that the cutter blade 4 is arranged in the inner base part of the clearance 5 so as to cross the clearance 5 when the body 2 is housed. According to the above structure, opening of a bag can be performed by the use of the clearance 5 of the cover 3 in the state where the cover 3 is closed, and the opening of a pack vessel can be performed in the handling manner of a general cutter knife in the state where the cover 3 is opened.
