PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper sheet positioning and supporting device capable of easily and accurately adjusting a space between guide plates arranged in both sides of a paper sheet bundle to be carried. SOLUTION: This paper sheet positioning and supporting device is provided with a fixed guide plate 17a, a movable guide plate 17b arranged opposite to the fixed guide plate 17a, and a positioning stopper 17c, and a booklet 9a is positioned by the positioning stopper 17c between the fixed guide plate 17a and the movable guide plate 17b for carrying and supporting. The movable guide plate 17b is screwed to a feeding screw 14 to be driven for rotation by a motor 12 so as to be fixed to a nut 15 to be moved straight along the feeding screw 14, and the space between the fixed guide plate 17a and the movable guide plate 17b is adjusted by the rotation of the motor 12 in response to the thickness of the booklet 9a. With this structure, deflection of the booklet 9a in the space between the fixed guide plate 17a and the movable guide plate 17b is eliminated, and displacement of the folding position of the booklet 9a in relation to a folding blade 7a is eliminated. |
