PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a image mapping system for obtaining the growing environment and condition of a crop, capable of taking both the picture images of a bird's-eye view which can take all over a farm field in a similar way to that of taken from an airplane, although they are taken on the ground, and an enlarged local image at level of the individual crop of which the image is difficult to be taken from the airplane. SOLUTION: This picture image mapping system comprises the following: (1) continuously taking the picture images of the farm field on a computer 5 by moving a camera 1, calculating each position and direction of the taken images by using positioning information obtained from the global positioning system(GPS), then composing the taken images and information to show on a display of the computer 5 as a planar image of all over the farm field; (2) automatically taking the picture images at intervals of an arbitrarily predetermined traveling distance, by utilizing the positioning information of the GPS, and inputting the taken images and information on a device which continuously takes the images of the farm field on the computer 5 by moving the camera 1; and (3) displaying the enlarged local image of the clicked position, when an arbitrary position on the composed image of all over the farm field shown on the display of the computer 5 is clicked.
