PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the transport properties of a stretchable printer while minimizing the occupying area thereof by making the guide rail prescribing the moving direction of an ink cartridge stretchable in matching relation to the size of a recording medium becoming a printing object. SOLUTION: A guide rail 1 for guiding the reciprocal movement of an ink carriage 2 in a printer 10 is constituted of four members 1a-1d. The members 1a-1d are made freely movable successively in the reciprocal moving direction of the ink carriage 2 in a mutual telescopic state. The positions of at least one end surfaces of the members 1a-1d coincide always regardless of the moving positions of the members 1a-1d and a part of the ink carriage 2 comes into contact with one end surfaces. Stoppers 21, 22 are fixed to the members 1a, 1d and the ink carriage 2 is reciprocally moved between the stoppers 21, 22. |
