PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition for the oral cavity which is excellent in alveolar bone absorption-inhibiting effect and also safe even when being used for a long term, and efficacious in the prophylaxis and therapy of periodontal disease. SOLUTION: The composition for the oral cavity comprises one or two kinds of aminoethyl compounds represented by the general formula (1) (wherein X is SO2H or SO2SH) as the active component.
