PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a prostaglandin derivative stable more than a conventional PGD2 derivative and having a sleep-inducing effect. SOLUTION: This invention provides a sleep-inducing agent containing, as an active ingredient, the prostaglandin derivative shown by formula I [A is ethylenyl or vinylenyl; X is a halogen atom; Y is a group shown by (CH2)m, vinylenyl or phenylenyl; m is an integer from 1 to 3; Z is ethylenyl, vinylenyl, ethynylene group, OCH2 or S(O)nCH2; n is 0, 1 or 2; R1 is a 3-10C cycloalkyl, a 3-10C cycloalkyl substituted by a 1-4C alkyl, a 3-10C cycloalkyl group connected with a 1-4C alkyl, a 5-10C alkyl, a 5-10C alkenyl, a 5-10C alkynyl or a bridged cyclic hydrocarbon group; R2 is H, a 1-10C alkyl or a 3-10C cycloalkyl], the pharmaceutically acceptable salt or the hydrate.
