PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small device for notching capable of forming a notched recesses simply and easily in a structural angle so as to fit a plate nut or the like in lips of a rail part of the structural angle for mounting parts. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a movable piece 2 which can freely come in and out of a lower end of a body 1 and has a shearing blade 13 protruding sideways from a tip, and a screw means 3 having a screw shaft 15 for retreating the movable piece 2 forcibly, and a receiver blade 14 for shearing which is formed at the lower end of the body 1 so that it can work together with the shearing blade 13 of the movable piece 2. The shearing blade 13 of the movable body 2 can be fitted inside of one of both lips 23 in the rail part 22 of a structural angle 20 for parts mounting parts from between both the lips 23. In this fitting state, the movable piece 2 is retreated to the body 1 side by the screw means 3, and then the lip 23 on one side can be sheared with both the shearing blade 13 of the movable piece 2 and the receiver blade 14 for shearing of the body 1 side.
