PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition containing a phenol resin prepared by using starch-bearing waste matters by-produced from the starch industry for the reutilization of the waste matters including a corn seed coat by-produced from the starch industry and provide a process for producing a cured molded article obtained by heating and curing the composition. SOLUTION: A resin composition is prepared by reacting starch-bearing waste matters by-produced from the starch industry with phenols in the presence of an acid catalyst at a temperature of 100-220 deg.C to undergo liquefaction and then neutralization to produce a phenol resin and mixing the resulting phenol resin with a curing agent and a filler.
