PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cosmetic capable of imparting a new kind of color effect, differentiating color tone by viewing angle and changing the color tone by light or heat after applying to hair, etc. SOLUTION: This cosmetic comprises a cholesteric liquid crystalline compound whose selective reflection wavelength changes by light or temperature in the cosmetic comprising the cholesteric liquid crystalline compound selectively reflecting light having arbitrary wavelength in visible area.
