PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document reader having compact constitution and readable both the sides of a document. SOLUTION: After reading the front face of the double-side document (P), this reader feeds the document to a reverse carrier passage (D), selectively holds its tip by a control roller 18 in a stationary state, stores the document held in the stationary state in a storage part 21 with its part from the intermediate part to the rear part loosened, sequentially let the document pass through a reading part 11 reversely so as to read the rear face. The document is reversed in the storage part so as to shorten the whole length of the device. This constitution can dispense with a roller etc., from the storage part. |
